“Your daily source for all things awesome”

0whole1′s Five Faves

5. Bob Cesca’s Goddamn Awesome Blog!

Semi-regular contributor to Huffington Post, Bob Cesca tell’s it how it politically is — and more to the point, how the GOP ain’t.

4. boing boing

My gateway zine to fringe culture back in the mid-90′s — now published in ‘Tubz-only format. Think “Wired” for people hooked on Edward Gorey. If that’s not redundant.

3. a little bit on the awesome side

“Your daily source for all things awesome” says the banner, which just about says it all. Public guerrilla art and Japanamation for-sale doodads and people getting tased, oh my. The content is adult (while at the same time immature :) but not naughty-no-no.

2. Deviant Art

Website for artists of various media to post their stuff. Talent and expertise vary wildly. There’s a filter for nakedity display. There’s an inordinate amount of Kim Possible fan art, for some reason.

1. Space.com

I believe somebody already listed “F-U Penguin”in their top five, so i guess I’ll have to go with Space.com for my last’un. I used to go there every day for a usually-guarateed-at-least-3-interesting articles about space science. I was there religiously during the X-Prize race when Burt Rutan and Scaled Composites launched SpaceShipOne into suborbital space twice in two weeks. Which tells you all you need to know, right there.

3. Found Cameras and Orphan Pictures

2. Found

We collect found stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids’ homework, to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins,
doodles– anything that gives a glimpse into someone else’s life. Anything goes. We certainly didn’t invent the idea of
found stuff being cool. Every time we visit our friends in other towns, someone’s always got some kind of unbelievable
discovered note or photo on their fridge. We decided to make a bunch of projects so that everyone can check out all the
strange, hilarious and heartbreaking things people have picked up and passed our way.

1. Eye for Color

For the artists out there: Beverly is a gifted artist who weaves beads of incredible color into gorgeous works of art.
Her photography and collages are food for the soul as well as hearty inspiration for new color combination and her own

Religion, Politics and The Enviroment

5. Landover Baptist Church

An excellent and funny site for those not offended by religious sarcasm, and that’s putting it lightly. This pretend right wing church group puts out the wackiest articles ever, but more fun than the articles is reading the comment section. I laugh so hard I cry every time I read the comments.

4. Letters From Germany

Not only is Letters a fellow mudpuppy, she offers some fun and education stories on her blog. The blog does not focus soley on Germany, or Europe, for that matter, but invites us to explore the significance of culture and traditions in everyday life.

3. By Example: The Quest For Sustainable Living

Join Mel and Patrick as the build their own sustainable homestead, if you can call it that. I have yet to find out their educational backgrounds, but from their projects, I have to assume they’re both scientists of some sort. Their designs and projects aren’t made from scrap lumber and leftover baggies (like mine).

2. Joanna’s Eco Travel Blog

If you’ve ever dreamt of getting rid of everything you own and running away to live in the wild and off the land, then Joanna is your mentor. After traveling the globe looking for the perfect eco home, Joanna and her husband Paul are getting settled on a kin domain in Colorado where they plan to live a completely eco friendly lifestyle.

1. Law Enforcement Against Prohibition

This cool group (site) is hosted by officers of the law who support legalizing, taxing and legally distributing drugs so cops can get back to taking care of crime, rather than spending millions of hours on the failed “War on Drugs.” After all, who do you want the cops chasing, the drunk who will plow you over or Willie Nelson?
