Three Blind Moose

From Forum Admin Deep Blue:

I was fortunate enough to have a mini-mudstock recently with Lani, a fellow Forum Admin. She was in town from Hawaii to help her son Ian get settled for his internship with Rep. Dennis Kucinich on Capitol Hill.

I invited Lani over for a glass of wine, and while out shopping my eye seized on the perfect thing!

Now, my first thought was, one of these moose could be Sarah, and the other two – well, maybe Meg Stapleton and Eddie Burke? Certainly the idea of them being “blind” in a figurative way made sense.

But then I took a closer look at the label. It read, in part, “Truth be told, the moose aren’t blind. Like us, they see clearly that making and enjoying great wine should be fun.”

Hmmm. That sounded a little too, well, reasonable to represent SP and crew. So I prefer to think of these three fun-loving moose as members of Alaska’s progressive crowd.  Could they be AK Muckraker, Shannyn Moore and Celtic Diva? Or maybe they are Mark Begich, Phil Munger and Dennis Zaki. Take your pick!

I’m happy to report that Lani and I did enjoy the wine. In fact, we finished the bottle, with some help from Mr. Deep Blue. Doesn’t it look so refreshing?

After some wine and conversation on that relaxing Friday evening, Lani was off to see her son for dinner. I gave her the Three Blind Moose cork to keep as a souvenir. I hope it stays with her throughout her travels!

Here’s to many more mudstocks across the country and the globe, be they mini or grand!

I had this wine in Jim Thorpe, PA – a merlot. It was like drinking liquid rubies. The BEST wine I’ve ever had. I love the label! Apparently it is a very small vineyard and I’m not able to get it at my local wineshops. I am ordering it from the Internet.

I enjoyed this — the post and the lovely picture. Thank you.

I’ve often thought it would be great if we could teleport (if that’s the right word) stuff through the computer. Since we can’t, I’ll enjoy the *thought* of the wine until I can track it down for myself.

I don’t know if Deep still has the bottle, but I saved the cork. It has journeyed to WDC, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware, and there’s still A LOT of summer left for traveling!
