Comment Of The Week -

goes to TBNT Judy for this nugget of amazing information which I will shortly be going to check out in person once the moon rises here!

How gorgeous is this view and what a great shot. If you rotate the moon by a quarter turn clockwise, you will see the seated profile of a standard poodle. So, yes, there is a poodle in the moon!

Question for you -

As you are all aware, this week we lost a mudpuppy who absolutely adored the swaps and mail stuff we have done at the forums. We’d like to arrange a new swap in memory of Kenny, but what should we swap this time?

In the past we’ve done a Secret Santa, we’ve done candy for valentines day, we did a postcard swap, and we have done magnets (or as the Admins like to call them, Magnuts).

Bear in mind if we are sending internationally there are some limits on what you can and cannot send.. but what would you like to see us swap next?

All ideas will be taken on board and are greatly appreciated. ;) Let us know via the comments, or via the contact us form.

I am so flattered. Thankyou, thankyou.
I am not a great writter, my profession is Accounting, Auditing and Finance.
Never wrote anything other than essays in school. I am not a jounalist either. To make things worse, English is my second language that I talk my self to speak and write.
but I have been inspired by many blogers like mudflats and all mudpuppies. I just thought I should not just keep quiet when things are wrong. We all need to speak our minds out, and thank you for all the bloggers.

I have been off from my blog, because I had surgery, was recovering from surgery. Now you just made my day. I need to put my fingures on the key board again.

And as you know I was hooked by mudflats blog since last year’s election.

Actually it was exciting to see mudflat on Huffington post and daily kos. I do post articles there too. I was like Yes. My friend is here.

I am reading all the mudpuppy blogs. All you guys rock. Together we are united and help each other. Yepiiii.
I will soon start posting some news from NJ. You know NJ is known as a blue state. No it is not all blue state. There is Warren County, to keep an eye on.
I live in Warren county, west of NJ close to PA,where rethugs are the majority , the sarahpack and Team Sarah. Many pro Palins. I have been keeping an eye on this group.
So I will feed you with what is going on here. I love you mudpuppies.

One idea for the mudswap - send a packet of spring/summer flower seeds from your area. (In case there are any customs problems with sending seeds, a postcard of your area featurring spring flowers could be sent.)

Lani, I love it. Also, perhaps we can ask Sabine what Kenny would’ve liked to swap…

    Pat, Washington state Says:

I like that idea. I think there must be something that would really have appealed to Kenny and it would be a great way to remember him as we all find whatever that special item is and then send it on its way to someone else.

I have never engaged in the swap before, but it sounds like a lot of fun. Is there a limit on the cost per item or is that left up to the individual sendee? Can anyone join in?

I was thinking we could swap bumper stickers or something from a local sports team. I love collecting stuff from minor league baseball teams or college teams around the country.

We could swap Christmas ornaments, pet/nature photos, tee shirts from local thrift stores supporting local businesses/bars/restaurants,etc. Or this may seem a little wierd, but whenever I visit another state, I collect a little jar of soil.

But I think it’s a great idea to ask Sabine.

    Char Says:

What we have done for the swaps in the past is set up rules such as a sign up by date, a send by date and the theme of the swap. We then have people send PMs (on the forum) to the “person” who is running the swap (we usually give them a name that corresponds with the swap like for valentines day it was Cupid and for the magnet swap it was P.F.Magnutz, this person is the Admin team or the Admin who took on the swap specifically). It takes a little while for the admins to sort who sends to whom and is for the most part random then we send out PM’s with who you are to mail to and their address. The participating members then go out and make or buy a swap item and send it. When the item is received we have people post what they received and from who (and where in the world).

I myself have received cards and candy from France, a Tshirt and penguin statues from California and a magnet from Mexico. I didn’t participate in the valentine swap. It is really fun.

We have done a total of 4 swaps I think so far, they each take a month or more to complete from conception to members receiving and posting their gifts.

    Lani Says:

A Kenny Memorial Swap is a wonderful idea! I’m changing my vote to that idea. Whatever Sabine wants is good with me.

All swaps are fun. I treasure my Christmas cards, postcards and magnutz. And a big Thank You to those who have organized them in the past!

    Paula Says:

I am so dumb, I can never do the forums…but I wanna do the swap. Please! Please! I really wanna!

I kind of like the magnet idea. Then we could each collect magnets from around the mudpuppy world and have them on our fridge. But I am game for anything…

    Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!

I’ve never participated in the swaps but I think this would be a great one to start with (for myself, I know most of you are old pros at this by now..:) ) Finding out what Kenny would have liked, sounds wonderful too.

    Deep Blue Says:

The swaps have really been fun, and have been a nice way to connect mudpuppies who may not have interacted directly on the forum or blog.

Something small and easy to mail is best, but it does not have to be limited to that. I do think it makes sense to ask Sabine what would be a good swap to honor Kenny.
